Last late review of the season …

I’m on holidays, in a hotel cruelly removed from my East coast FOX feed, and while I’ve managed to sneak an hour to see the show, no House review until late Wednesday.

No spoilers here. I just finished watching. I don’t know if I’d call it a cliffhanger if this much of “House” falls off the cliff. I’ll leave it at that, until Diane Kristine does her review.

  2. Eric says:

Copied from last week’s comment thread, because I didn’t know this was up:

“I realize this week’s review won’t be up for awhile yet, but I have to comment, so I’ll do it on last week’s post. :-p

WTF? Perhaps even OMGWTFBBQ! That was not the Season 3 ending I was expecting. I… truly have absolutely no idea what they’ll do from this point. I don’t know whether I’m happy they chose to shake things up this much, or upset by it. I guess I have until Fall to figure it out.

Would love to see some interviews with the folks behind the decision, though – and the actors, for that matter – just to get inside their heads.”

  3. Eric says:

I also think it’s interesting, Diane, to note your comment from last week –

“It would be a fundamental shakeup of the show at a time when its popularity has never been higher, too, which makes me skeptical they’d actually do it.”

You were referring to giving Foreman his own department with that statement, I realize, but they’ve gone a step beyond that in my view. Thoughts? :-p

  4. Darius says:

well, going in, I didn’t expect that ending, but both of the plot “twists” I foresaw as they approached. Very good way to end season 3!

  5. Diane says:

Eric, you really think all three of them are gone? I remain skeptical. More later … and I’ll of course be interested to hear what others have to say.

  6. Darius says:

I’m not sure how they’re going to realistically write them back into the show. Unless during the summer House gets horribly sick and the only people who can solve his illness are those 3. Very fun how House planned it so that Cameron would resign after Chase was fired. He played them all. And it’s all Wilson’s fault; he challenged House by saying he was incapable of changing.

  7. Mef says:

i didn’t see the first season of House? did we see everyone get hired at the start?

maybe they can do godfather 2 thing, a little before and after.

i don’t know why but I enjoyed house drinking with the husband.

but Diane to answer your question I don’t really think all three are gone.

  8. Sean says:

After two weeks of longing and anticipation, my mind was filled with possibilities about how season 3 would end. While the episode was good, I was disappointed by the cliffhanger. My reason for this is simple: No way the three of them are leaving, hence eliminating any possible suspense. With the show’s popularity at an all time high, the show’s formula is not going to be messed with. Compared to season two’s finale “No Reason” this episode was a minor disappointment to me.

  9. Diane Kristine says:

Hey Mark, no, we didn’t actually see any of them get hired, though the series started with Foreman in the first … days? weeks? of the job. Chase had been there about a year, and Cameron somewhere between the two. I liked the drinking/smoking scene too and I’m not sure why – someone besides Wilson to share some camaraderie with I guess.

Sean, I get the disappointment but perhaps naively don’t share it – if I had to bet (again) I’d say none of them are gone, but I remain hopeful things won’t be completely status quo for season four, either. I’m intrigued how they’re going to get out of this one – I think there’s even more interesting possibilities knowing they probably won’t be gone than assuming they will be, because there’s any number of configurations for having them come back, perhaps in different capacities. Fellowships don’t last forever, and they already stretched that a bit.

  10. Darius says:

My wife told me that she has known for two weeks that none of them are coming back because she read an interview of Jennifer Morrison and I guess she has a new show on WB or something and none of the three re-signed for House.

  11. Diane Kristine says:

I think your wife may be pulling your leg.

  12. wcdixon says:

C’mon Kristine…put it out cuz I wanna rip this ep a new a-hole. And I mean that in the nicest and most constructive way possible.

  13. Diane Kristine says:

I’m working on it, Dixon! I look forward to doing battle with your obviously wrong-headed take on the ep πŸ˜‰
