Communications Coaching
Creating common understanding
Global institutions and large, complex organisations trust me to clarify needs, design strategy, and implement communication tactics in support of business goals.
For more than 15 years I have delivered communications plans that translate complicated concepts into easily understood messages for organisations in health care, sports broadcasting, education, non-profit, and arts and entertainment.
Strategic communications partner
An internal and digital communications expert, I grasp concepts quickly, establish trust with internal stakeholders and act as a champion of change and innovation while creating common understanding of key messages.
I believe in researching and understanding the needs of audiences and using relevant data to design and implement tailored modern approaches that connect and engage.
As a senior communications consultant with the Fraser Health Authority, I helped create a long-term strategy to shift the perception of the health care system from hospital-based to a community-based system of prevention and support.
In the community
Outside of work, I’m dedicated to giving back to my community with ongoing volunteer commitments. I have been an active board member of the Port Moody Arts Centre and the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), as well as a mentor with Big Sisters and member of the tourism civic committee for the City of Port Moody.
I recently relocated to Edinburgh from Vancouver — two beautiful cities — and am seeking long-term volunteer opportunties in my new home.
Education and training
I graduated from the University of Alberta with distinction, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in English literature and a minor in linguistics. I also attended MacEwan University, where I earned a Certificate in Arts Administration after completing course work in communications, marketing, fundraising and volunteer management.
With experience in a variety of content management systems and a Hootsuite Social Marketing Certificate as well as HTML and CSS coding experience behind me, I’m working my way through the Odin Project’s coding curriculum to further enhance my digital skills.

Diane Wild
Communications consultant
Diane is a strong communications professional that consistently delivers on well thought out strategies that meet the goal, are creative and can be implemented with ease. She is a writer that keeps you engaged and connects with your emotions. I often read her writing with a smile, a laugh, a tear or it has provoked me to think about something in a new way. My go to person for sure.
I’ve worked with Diane in a few ways over the years. She’s an excellent teammate, a solid professional mentor and coach for those more junior to her and she’s the kind of consultant you want to hire. She’s a sharp strategist who will listen, research and assess a project’s goals and background before getting too far into the tactical mud. She gets measurement, too, and she can also execute tactics, including a whole range of digital tools, on her own. She is also a lot of fun to be around and a genuinely good person.
Diane is a talented and skilled communicator. I’ve worked with her over the years on a number of health care-related strategic communications projects, and thoroughly enjoyed her open and creative collaboration style. That has led to some great results, including the production of an award-winning video. It is also worth mentioning that Diane is an all around lovely person to work with should she be on your project or team.

Curating for social media self-care
I’m a huge advocate for social media as a powerful force of connection, to people and to information. Now more than ever that's important, but now more than ever I’ve found it necessary to turn down the social media noise. Like many people, I’ve been struggling to...
